Borough residents

Borough residents are reminded that they are required to clear the snow from in-front and around fire hydrants on their sidewalk / curb per Borough Ordinance.

If you spot a leaking hydrant you can report it to the Fire Prevention Bureau at 201-592-3500 Ext. 1502.

The Bureau is open Monday - Friday from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.

The fire hydrants in town have a white fiber glass pole with blue markings on it. This is to assist the fire department in locating fire hydrants during snowy weather. The poles must not be removed from the hydrants.

Also, you may notice that some of the fire hydrants in town have a yellow steamer connection "front" . This is a new hydrant connection that the fire department is switching over to that will save time during an emergency.
