The Fort Lee Fire Department is always looking for a "few good men and women" to join its ranks to help protect those who live and work in the Borough of Fort Lee. The department is all volunteer except for the fire prevention bureau. We operate out of four firehouses - north, south, east and west - which covers the entire borough. 

To join the department, you must be 18 years old, a resident of Fort Lee and a United States citizen. Once accepted, you must complete an 18 week basic firefighter training course at the Bergen County Fire Academy. Some of the benefits that you will receive as a firefighter is an annual stipend, annual clothing allowance, life insurance and medical coverage. But, the greatest benefit of all - is helping your neighbor! 

To obtain an application for membership, you can go to the firehouse closest to where you live or you can call the Fire Chief's Office at 592-3584 Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 4:00pm or you can e-mail the department at FDfortlee@aol.com
